Voters in Flin Flon will be able to see the candidates in the upcoming provincial election duke it out in an official candidates forum next month.

Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce president Karen MacKinnon confirmed to The Reminder that the chamber has organized a debate for August 26 at Flin Flon City Hall in council chambers. The chamber organized a similar community forum before the 2016 provincial election.

Long-time chamber member Dave Kendall has been named as the moderator of the forum, which will feature NDP incumbent MLA Tom Lindsey, Progressive Conservative (PC) challenger Theresa Wride and an as-of-yet unknown candidate for the Manitoba Liberal Party.

“It will be an evening event and it will be open to the public,” said MacKinnon. “It’s all in the works.”
