Huckins scores game-winner for Titan in 4-3 win over Islanders in QMJHL

Cole Huckins scored the third-period game-winner for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in a 4-3 victory over the visiting Charlottetown Islanders on Sunday in the QMJHL.

Huckins scored at 9:50 of the third and also had an assist for the Titan, who bounced back from a shootout loss to the Moncton Wildcats the previous evening.

Assistant captain Jaxon Bellamy scored and added two assists for Acadie-Bathurst (6-0-1). 

Riley Kidney scored his sixth goal in seven games to start his season and Joseph Henneberry added a goal to the win.

Titan goalie Jan Bednar stopped 39-of-42 shots for the win.

Lukas Cormier scored twice and Michael Horth had a goal for the Islanders (3-4-0).

Charlottetown goaltender Jacob Goobie made 31 saves in the loss.

In Sunday's other games, the Quebec Remparts thumped the Val-d'Or Foreurs 8-2, the Rimouski Oceanic thrashed the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 10-2 and the Drummondville Voltigeurs edged the Gatineau Olympiques 2-1 in overtime.

Remparts (6-1-0) captain Theo Rochette and defenceman Louis Crevier each scored twice and had an assist in Quebec's decisive win over Val-d'Or (4-1-1).

Alex Drover's hat trick spurred the Oceanic (5-1-1) to a resounding victory over Blainville-Boisbriand (6-2-0). Rimouski's Xavier Cormier and Luka Verreault each scored twice.

VOLTIGEURS 2 OLYMPIQUES 1 (OT)

Jeremy Lapointe scored twice, including the overtime winner, in the Voltigeurs' victory. Antonin Verreault replied for the Olympiques (1-2-3). Drummondville (3-2-1) goalie Francesco Lapenna stopped 27-of-28 shots for the win.

Jordan Dumais and Zachary L'Heureux scored and added an assist, and Mathis Rousseau stopped all 29 shots for the shutout for Halifax (4-1-1). Vincent Filion made 28 saves for Moncton (3-3-0).

Felix Lafrance led the way for Chicoutimi (3-2-2) with two goals and two assists while Jeremy Louchard earned the 30-save shutout. Olivier Adam stopped 26-of-29 shots for Baie-Comeau (1-5-0).
