OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he is feeling well and has no symptoms after testing positive today for COVID-19.

Trudeau has been in isolation since Thursday after one of his children tested positive for the virus.

Today he says another of his three children is battling the illness now as well.

He addressed Canadians virtually as he and his family isolate both due to COVID-19 and because of the ongoing convoy of protesters around Parliament Hill.

He says he will continue to work remotely all week, including plans to virtually address the House of Commons tonight about the situation in Ukraine.

Trudeau says the challenge his family is facing is known very well by many families around the world.

"It's frustrating that after two years, the battle against COVID-19 is still dominating so many parts of our lives," he said. "This virus affects us all."

He repeated his oft-repeated request for Canadians to get vaccinated.

Trudeau is fully vaccinated and received his booster shot at a local Ottawa pharmacy in early January.

Monday is the first day that members of Parliament are returning to the House of Commons after the winter holiday break.
