YBC held their "Bring a Buddy" Tournament over two dates: September 26 and October 26, to give more kids a chance to enter. This tournament is a fun tournament to promote YBC in hopes of gaining new members. Games were bowled in a "Scotch Doubles" format where the YBC member bowls the first frame, Buddy bowls the second frame, alternating turns each frame for a total of three games. All the YBC bowlers will receive a crest, and the top in each group will receive a champion bar as well. The buddies will receive participation certificates. Costumes were welcomed, we played bingo bowling, and novelty bowling in the "dark", with the newly installed black lights for a glow bowling effect. Everyone had a great time. We have four Senior bowlers who participated in the Youth Challenge Tournament. Matthieu Leifso and Matt Broda made the Men's Team for Manitoba North, Doug Asmus made the Mixed Team, and Victoria Brooks qualified as an alternate. Walter Leifso will be coaching one of the teams at the Provincials in Brandon on December 6. These bowlers competed with bowlers from Thompson for their positions. Our main fundraiser is in progress. It is a National chocolate sales campaign, required by all Youth Bowling Councils across Canada.
