With teams coming from Sandy Bay, North Battlefords, Prince Albert and Swift Current, wrestling fans are in for a treat as Creighton Community School hosts the 2008 SHSAA Boys and Girls Wrestling Regionals. Saturday, March 1, will have approximately 40 teams competing for the title. Things get underway at 10 a.m. The tournament, open to any students not in the Regina or Saskatoon region, will be competing throughout the day against a wide variety of schools. Creighton Kodiaks coach Pat McKenzie and the team practice throughout the week, working on different techniques, which they are hoping will bring them to the top. Teams will be coming from the following areas for the boys: Dillon Buffalo River, Elrose, Hudson Bay, LaLoche, Meadow Lake Carpenter, MJ Peacock, North Battlefords, Prince Albert Carlton, Prince Albert St. Mary, Prince Albert Wesmor, Roddignol, Swift Current, Weyburn Comp., Weyburn Jr. High, Yorkton Regional, Sandy Bay and Balgonie. The girls teams will be: Dalmeny, Delisle, Dillon Buffalo River, Elrose, Hector Thuboutot, Greenall, Herbert, Hudson Bay, laLoche, Meadow Lake Carpenter, MJ Riverview, North Battlefords, Prince Albert Carlton, Prince Albert St. Mary, Prince Albert Wesmor, Rossignol, Swift Current, Weyburn Comp., and Yorkton Regional.
