The Kindersley Klippers have announced a two-year contract extension for head coach and general manager Larry Wintoneak, keeping him with the club until the conclusion of 2011-12 season. Wintoneak took over the team in 2006-07 and immediately guided the team to an 18-win improvement in his first year. He has led the Klippers to three straight seasons of above-.500 hockey and also took them to within a single win of the Credit Union Cup in 2007-08. This past season, the Klippers finished in third place in the Sherwood Conference and swept the Notre Dame Hounds in the Sherwood Conference semifinals before falling in seven games to Yorkton in the conference finals. Klippers President Rod Perkins says, "The organization is very happy with the direction our club has taken under his guidance and look forward to an exciting 2010-11."
