Nothing beats determination. That's exactly what helped the Flin Flon girls volleyball team earn a Manitoba Winter Games berth. "It's very, very exciting," said Flin Flon co-coach Cathy Davidson. After round-robin action where Flin Flon placed first and Thompson second, Flin Flon defeated Thompson for a second time as they went undefeated during the Norman Regional Games in Thompson and never lost a set. "Our team did very, very well," Davidson said. "Our serving was stronger than the opposition and our playmaking was stronger." Flin Flon also played Easterville, who placed last. Now Flin Flon will prepare for the Manitoba Winter Games in Beausejour, March 6-12. Davidson stated The Pas didn't participate as they couldn't get enough player to compete.
