Norway House has been chosen to host the 2005 Norman Regional Winter Games, Sport Manitoba announced yesterday. The annual multi-sport event will be held from February 4-6, with hockey being played February 18-20. The Norman Games are open to everyone in the North in both individual and team sports in carious age categories. The events to be featured at the upcoming Games include adult co-ed curling (18 & up), junior curling (11-16), pee wee 'A' hockey, men's basketball (18 & up), co-ed volleyball (18 & up), cross country skiing (10 & up), boys and girls indoor soccer (15-16), table tennis (10 & up) and badminton (10 & up). Snowshoeing (10 & up) will be offered as a demonstration sport. The event will include an opening ceremonies as well as entertainment for the athletes on Saturday. The deadline to register is January 21. To register, contact the local recreation department by calling 681-7542, talk to your physical education teacher or call the Sport Manitoba Regional Office at 1-866-774-2220, ext. 5.
