The Weyburn Red Wings took a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Yorkton Terriers on Wednesday night with a 4-3 double-overtime win. Ryan Kuntz scored the winner at 1:39 of the second overtime frame. Jason Wager and Evan Debert gave Yorkton a 2-0 lead after the second period of play, but three unanswered goals from Weyburn put the Wings ahead late in the third period. Kenny King got the Wings on the board at 9:49, Tyler Mills tied the game at 12:54, and Jereme Tendler put Weyburn ahead at 16:51. With time running out in regulation, Chris Korchinski evened the score for Yorkton, but to no avail, as Weyburn scored in overtime to take a 3-0 lead in the Sherwood Conference final series. In the Dodge final, the Humboldt Broncos evened their series with the Kindersley Klippers with a 4-3 win on Wednesday night. Humboldt's Jeff Nuttall scored the only goal of the first period, but a back-and-forth second period saw Kindersley take a 3-2 lead. Joey Eaton had the second Humboldt goal, while Jesse Fischer, Curtis Bazylinski and Josh Sim tallied for the Klippers. The third period was owned by the Broncos, who out shot the Klippers 12-5 and scored twice to earn the victory. Brendan Vanthuyne scored at 11:05 to tie the game, and Simon Nadeau netted his fifth goal of the post season at 17:03 for the win.
