Former Flin Flon Bombers are making their way through NHL camps as of recent.
Former forward Cole Wilson joins the slew of Bombers to advance in their hockey careers.
Wilson, a forward with the Bombers in the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, recently joined the Washington Capitals
for their development camp.
During his time with the Bombers Wilson picked up 76 points in 95 games – 35 goals and 41 assists.
Wilson left the Bombers in 2009 when he was dealt to the Westside Warriors of the BCHL.
From there, the BC native made his way to the Camrose Kodiaks and played in an RBC Cup tournament.
Other former Bombers attending NHL camps include Andrew Johnston and Carsen Chubak, who attended the Philadelphia Flyers’ camp; Jesse Mychan, who played at the Vancouver Canucks camp: and Michael Young, who attended camps for the San Jose Sharks and the Winnipeg Jets.
On his way to the NHL, Wilson has suited up with the University of BC Thunderbirds.
He led his team in scoring after three seasons with 35 points and was named to the Canada West Second Team All-Star.
Wilson was invited to return to the Capitals’ Rookie Camp following their Developmental Camp.
