The Willowpark Curling Club (WCC) held their semi-annual meeting on Wednesday, April 20 at the club lounge. Their new club president, Bev Dutcawich, reported that the WCC had a successful year. Dutcawich went on to say: "The building structure is strong and will last for the next five years. The club had a good year financially and the members are looking forward to another good year next year." She said that she wanted people to know the semi-annual meeting, along with registration, will take place in early September. The specific date will be announced. Dutcawich also stated that the Club Champions for this year are the Donna Giest team for the ladies. Her team consisted of Sandra Davie, Lorna Quinn and Brenda Gibney. The Club Champions for the men were the Jamie Switzer team of Jason Dutcawich, Don Holmes (Jr.) and Rob Warren. Dutcawich also mentioned how much the executive appreciated all the hard work done by many people last year to get things into shape for the season. Also she mentioned Karen and Fern, noting the great job that they do! Please note: Once again I will be more than pleased to report on any curling eventsÉ however, I can't cover them if I don't know about them, so let me know what's happening. 687-3344 Have a great summer!
