Yesterday was the final day of the Golden Gal playoffs at Uptown Curling Club. The morning draw saw Irene Johnston's team of Ann Hardy, Wanda Ginnell and Nadia Chudy play the Ann Wiebe team of Sheila Adams, Norma Barr and Sheila Sproxton. The Johnston team just couldn't buy a shot and the game was over in the seventh end with Wiebe coming out on top. Yesterday afternoon, the 'A' side winner Leone Lundgren with her team of Joyce Cooper/Fern Kozak, Yvonne Davis and Vera Bell were waiting to take on Wiebe's team, but it really was no contest as again the Lundgren team just couldn't get it together and Wiebe won handily in six ends. From all reports the curlers found the ice keen and swingy thanks to the efforts of ice man Dustin Trumbley, the concession operator Sherry Radics was opened and ready to serve, and all went very well. There were many spectators who came out to watch! Congratulations to all the curlers and especially to the Wiebe team. Good Luck in Carberry, we have a great rep from the North!
