When Joel Webb requested a trade out of Flin Flon, the Bombers began searching for a 19-year-old offensive forward in exchange for the talented blueliner.

Mission accomplished.

The Bombers have acquired 1996-born forward Jason Lavallee and future considerations in a three-way deal.

“He will provide some secondary scoring and take some pressure off of our top line,” said Bombers head coach and general manager Mike Reagan.

Lavallee had two goals and six points in 13 games this season for the Penticton Vees, who had the best record in the British Columbia Hockey League.

Lavallee is listed on Hockeydb.com as a 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward. Hailing from Thetford Mines, Quebec, he had 28 goals and 50 points in 31 games last season while leading the Sorel-Tracy Rebelles to a Quebec College Hockey League championship.

Webb, who is from Edmonton and requested a trade back to Alberta, ended up with the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The AJHL team sent 19-year-old forward Nicholas James and future considerations to Penticton in exchange for Webb and future considerations.

Webb had a goal and three assists in four games with Flin Flon this season.

Reagan said the Bombers knew when they acquired Webb there was a possibility he would ask for a trade.

As reported last week, the Bombers have also sent goalie Connor Slipp to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Winkler Flyers for future considerations.

With Zac Robidoux and Brenden Newton, Flin Flon had been carrying three netminders.
