If you like speed and getting wet, then water skiing might just fill your appetite for both. Steve Meyer, president of the Northern Lights Waterski Club, is encouraging people to give it a shot. "Twenty to 30 is good," Meyer said. "The more the merrier." Meyer is hoping this year will be better as last year was a wash out due to rain. As he put it, "last year was a crappy summer." The club gets together on Wednesdays and Saturdays. When it comes to joining the club, what you have to do is simple. "Just show up Ð the club has equipment," he said. Not only that, you get personal instruction from either Meyer or Vicki Ross. Meyer, a certified instructor, has been running the 12-year-old club the last four years and said the action takes place at Beaver Lake. Participants meet at Angell's Marina. "People can come out once without joining," he said. "People of any age can come." The club has a professional clinic scheduled for mid-July and there are still spots available. The instructor comes from Saskatoon and teaches everything from skiing to wake boarding. For those classes there are only five spots available for Wednesday. "It's a great opportunity to learn something new," Meyer said. The clinic goes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The first night for the club is July 5. For more information contact Steve Meyer at 687-0223 or Vicki Ross at 687-5369.
