Hapnot Collegiate will host their first tournament of the season, with seven girls and eight boys teams competing. Boys teams will be playing all of their games at McIsaac School. Snow Lake, ONR (Cross Lake), JARS (OCN), and Hapnot SV will play in Pool A, while Norway House, Hapnot JV, Creighton and Gilliam will play in Pool B. The Hapnot boys teams will be short handed this weekend, as seven of their players will be in Steinbach for the Soccer Provincials. Also this weekend, the JV boys will be in Kilarny for Cross Country running. "This year we have a really strong boys volleyball team," said coach Mike Nychuk. "We stand a very good chance of taking the Zones from Thompson. Unfortunately, this tournament, seven of our ten players will be playing soccer at provincials. Good luck to them, but unfortunately, they won't be here for our tournament. We'll have to fill the spots with JV players. We are still hoping to do well." Girls games will be played at Hapnot. Hapnot's JV team will play in Pool A with MBCI (The Pas), Snow Lake and Split Lake. Pool B will be Norway House, Gilliam and ONR.
