The Creighton Kodiaks football team will have a permanent power source after a donation from IAM Local 1848.

According to an IAM press release, the union’s donation is an effort to “pay it forward” to the community that showed them support during their four-month strike earlier this year.

The new generator, valued at about $700, is intended “to provide the community with a better spectator experience with lights, sound, scoreboard and concession booth.”

For previous games, the team has used borrowed generators to keep the concession booth running.
