Three Canadian Junior 'A' Hockey League players are among 40 players invited to the selection and development camp for the Hockey Canada under-18 team. Dan Bertram, Brock Bradford and Andrew Cogliano played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, British Columbia Hockey League and Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League, respectively, in 2003-04. Bertram, Bradford and Cogliano will be bidding for positions among 22 players to be chosen for the under-18 Junior World Cup in Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany, Slovakia in August. The Hockey Canada selection and development camp will be July 31-Aug. 6 in Calgary. The tournament is scheduled Aug. 10-15. Bertram, 17, was voted the AJHL's outstanding rookie. He accumulated 22 goals and 55 points in 44 regular-season games with the Camrose Kodiaks. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Bertram missed 16 games because he injured his knee at the world under-17 championship. He added three goals and nine points in nine playoff games. Bradford, 17, tied for 14th in the BCHL with 85 points, including 49 assists, in 57 regular-season games with the Coquitlam Express. He led Coquitlam with nine assists and 11 points in seven playoff games. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Bradford is from Burnaby, B. C. He totalled 58 assists and 96 points in 64 games overall. Cogliano, 17, was 12th in the OPJHL with 72 points, including 46 assists, in 37 regular-season games with the St. Michael's Buzzers. He was fourth among OPJHL playoff scorers with 31 points, including 20 assists, in 24 games. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Cogliano is from Vaughn, Ont. He contributed 66 assists and 103 points in 61 games overall. CJAHL alumnus Devin Setoguchi was also named to the selection camp roster. Setoguchi, 17, played for the Crowsnest Pass Timberwolves of the AJHL as a 15-year-old. Setoguchi was with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League last season.
