Tuesday night was a busy one in the SJHL, with eight teams in action. The Melfort Mustangs put more distance between themselves and the Flin Flon Bombers by dumping the struggling Humboldt Broncos by a score of 4-2. Matt Fennell, Brennan Ewen, Taylor Watt and Nick VanDenBeld had the goals for Melfort, while Luke Strueby and Arlen Marshall scored for Humboldt. Humboldt out shot Melfort 33-24, but had a hard time beating Aaron Forer. Jon Lawrance had two goals and two assists to beat the Melville Millionaires 5-2. Kyle Krunick, Jared Spencer and Mike Bulawka scored singles for Nipawin, while Kai Magnussen and Dedrick Klassen replied for Melville. Four of Nipawin's goals came on the power play. Melville's Chad Krienke could find himself in a heap of trouble after apparently leaving the bench to fight Nipawin's Charles Burd at the 19:54 mark of the third period. The last-place Weyburn Red Wings dumped the first-play Notre Dame Hounds 5-1. Ryan Grona had two goals for the Wings including an early short handed effort. Todd Taylor, Rick Wood and Cody Wasik also scored for Weyburn, who out shot Notre Dame 33-23. Chris Hahn scored his 16th goal of the season for the Hounds. It was a short handed goal. The Yorkton Terriers out shot the Battlefords North Stars 45-23 en route to a 5-2 win. Barry Sparvier had a pair of goals for the Terriers, while Chad Nehring, Justin Menke and Chris Korchinski added singles. Scott Maunula and Riley Lang had the goals for the North Stars.
