Once Jordan Cherney and Nick Colliton got over the shock of being traded from Estevan to Flin Flon, they became happy Bombers. "Just excited to be part of the history of the team," said Cherney, after his first Bomber practice on Thursday. The native of Regina, Sask., is already enjoying his short time with his new teammates, but a familiar one existed in Myles Masse. "I've been friends with Masse so it's nice to have a guy I know on the team," Cherney explained. For Colliton, coming with Cherney and Kyle Lundale, has made the transition easier. He's looking foward to playing in the Whitney Forum with the loud, passionate fans cheering the team. "I thought it was amazing and the fans are crazy," Colliton added. "In any rink where it's loud, I like that. Even if it's not for you, it gets you going." While previous players who were traded to Flin Flon chose not to report, neither player had intentions of doing the same. "I figure if you get traded you go and make the best of the situation," Colliton said. "Cherney knows a few guys on the team, plus I've heard the ice fishing is good." The Blacki, Alta., native said he intends to contribute with his speed and to produce with an aggressive style. Cherney also intends to bring a physical presence and to chip in offensively. "I haven't had a chance to show what I can do offensively" he said. "In Estevan I never got the ice time." If both can help in the goal scoring department, Bombers coach-GM Doug Stokes will be left with a big grin on his face and fans will be happy with their newest Bombers.11/20/2006
