The Melfort Mustangs are pleased to announce the acquisition of 18-year-old forward Robbie Holoien from the Victoria Salsa of the BCHL. Holoien is reunited with 'AAA' Midget Head Coach Darrell Mann as the two were in Tisdale last season when Holoien amassed 24 goals and 36 assists in 43 games. That was good enough for fourth overall in the SMAAAHL scoring parade. This season, Holoien not only spent time with the Salsa but also with the WHL's Tri-Cities Americans. He contributed one goal in four games. The 6'3", 190 Ibs forward is also a native of Melfort. The Mustangs give up future considerations in the trade. The Weyburn Red Wings have acquired 18-year-old defenseman Miles Alexander from the Swan Valley Stampeders in exchange for 18-year-old forward David Dobrinski. In Alexander, the Wings get a 5'8", 192 Ibs native of Alida that contributed two assists in 14 games and also had 27 penalty minutes this season with the MJHL's Stamps. Dobrinski was pointless in nine games with Weyburn. The 6', 185 Ibs product of Hudson Bay had 19 penalty minutes.
