The Dauphin Kings have traded 20-year-old defenseman Garrett Hildebrandt in a three way trade that sees five players on the move. Hildebrandt was shipped to Portage for rookie blueliner Chris Barth. The Terriers then parlayed Hildebrandt into Jaymes Pawluk and Bryan Bouchard from Winkler. In Hildebrandt, the Flyers get a highly coveted and highly skilled experienced defenseman. He had four goals and 11 assists in 20 games this season for the Kings. Winkler also receives the list rights to Brant Collins, an '87, who is from Pilot Mound. Barth is a raw first year junior who played on last year's Manitoba 'AAA Midget Hockey League champion Brandon Wheat Kings. He has one goal and four assists as well as 83 penalty minutes in 20 games. The Kings get two years younger in making the 1-for-1 swap. He has seven goals and eight assists in 25 games. He also has 112 penalty minutes. While Hildebrandt may have more offensive upside on the back end, Bouchard is competent and is more physical as a forward. Pawluk is also a 19 year-old who had two goals and three assists in 17 games. He has 29 penalty minutes.
