A little bit of wind didn't hold back 17 participants at last week's Walking Poker Derby. Participants made their way through the uptown area collecting a poker hand. The May 24 walk started at the Flin Flon Community Hall, where participants picked their first card. From there, the walkers made their way to the Whitney Forum, Flin Flon Aboriginal Friendship Centre, North of 53 Co-op and Flin Flon City Hall. Amber Mucha had the top poker hand in the in motion walk with three of a kind. Three Queens sealed the deal for Mucha as Marilyn Reader picked up second place with two pair _ a pair of sixes and a pair of fours. Janae Neufeld was recognized as the youngest participant. She and mom Jacq Neufeld along with Deb Gourlay made their way through the derby. The Walker Poker Derby was held in conjunction with the in motion's Personal 31 Day Health Challenge.
