Hapnot Collegiate played host to the Zone 11 Junior Varsity Championships this past weekend. Both the JV Kings and Kweens did extremely well, reaching the finals in both events. However, it was the RDPC Trojans from Thompson that went home with the banners. A total of 14 teams were in action. In the boys final, Hapnot led RDPC early in both games, but the Trojans came from behind to beat the Kings 25-23 in both games. "The guys played their hearts out, and should all be proud of the efforts they put forth all season," said coach Steve Lytwyn. "We made it through the round robin and the semis without losing a set." In the girls final, Hapnot kept the game close early on, but RDPC took it away as the game progressed, beating the Kweens 25-12 and 25-14.
