Jonathon Naylor Editor The Flin Flon Bombers snapped an eight-game losing skid in Melville Tuesday only to suffer a humiliating blowout the following night in Yorkton. Konrad Litke (Devin Buffalo) was the overtime hero versus the Millionaires as his 10th of the season gave the Bombers their first victory in nearly three weeks. But the 6-5 victory in Melville did not come easy as Flin Flon came back from a three-goal deficit on the strength of a red-hot power play that went four for seven. Dallen Hall (Riley Storzuk, Cameron Blair), James McNulty (Storzuk, Brandt Weldon), Weldon (Tanner Clark, Dillan McCombie) and Blair (Weldon) scored the Bombers' first four goals, all with the man advantage. With the game tied 4-4 late in the third period, Storzuk (David Roper) gave Flin Flon a one goal lead at 16:54. Losing streak over? The Bombers' losing streak appeared all but over until Melville's Ian McNulty got one past Buffalo with just two seconds left in regulation. Litke sealed the deal at 3:06 of the extra frame on what was a busy night for Melville goalie Blake Voth. He faced 49 shots compared to 38 for Buffalo in the Flin Flon net. But the momentum from the win did not carry over into Yorkton on Wednesday night. The Bombers suffered a 7-1 loss at the hands of the Terriers, with Weldon (Hall) scoring the lone marker for the visitors late in the first period. Coach Mike Reagan again gave Buffalo the start, but he was switched in favour of Andy Desautels after allowing three goals on 13 shots in under 15 minutes of play. Desautels went on to allow four goals on 26 attempts as the Terriers outshot the Bombers 39-28. Flin Flon's lone goal came on the power play, one of five attempts, while Yorkton went one for four with the extra skater. Storzuk and Weldon earned the first and third stars in Tuesday's game but the Bombers were shut out of the Three Star selections Wednesday. Yesterday marked the first of a five-day break for the Bombers, who travel to Nipawin to face off against the Hawks on Tuesday.
