Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Pas Peewee Huskies took the Feszczyn Cup as they earned Gold in both the A and AA finals. Taking on the Thompson Miners in the A finals, the Huskies earned a convincing win this past weekend. The next game had the AA Huskies taking command over the Swan Valley Stampeders. The Flin Flon Bombers A team was unable to seal the deal in the round robin games as they were defeated 2-1, twice, and 3-2. Coach Bob Wood says the team 'was in' all the games they played. 'They were exciting and intense games,' said Wood. 'We just came up short in all of them.' The Bombers finished fifth place in the A pool in the tournament, held at both the Whitney Forum and the Creighton Sportex. Coaching 11- and 12-year-old athletes, Wood says he told the team how proud he was at the end of the games and the weekend. '...they were tough games and (I told them they) played hard,' he said. 'I was proud all weekend and I let them know.' The Peewee A and AA Bombers will continue to play their regular season games with playoffs around the corner next month.
