The Rotary Club of Flin Flon is putting their cards on the table to help raise money for local projects. A Texas Holdem tournament will be held on April 20 in an effort to support the community. Previously, the Rotary Club had moved the tournament to St. Anne's Church, but this year it is back at the Elks Hall. Open to both men and women over the age of 18, this month will mark the fifth tournament held in Flin Flon. An entry fee of $150 will get players to the table as well as a supper. The tournament will also have sit and go tables for $30 for those who have been knocked out of the main game early. Rotarian Tim Smith says there is a maximum of 100 players, and suggests tickets be picked up sooner than later. Tickets will be sold in both Flin Flon and The Pas at Kleen All Enterprises. Recently, the Rotary Club has donated $30,000 to the Flin Flon Skatepark as well as other community projects. The Rotary Club also spearheads Operation Red Nose in the winter, offering a safe option for partygoers to get home during the holiday season.
