The Yorkton Terriers have fought hard in the Western Canada Cup and recently suffered their first loss. The SJHLers were down 1-0 in the third period of their third round-robin game as they challenged the Brooks Bandits. A goal gave the Terriers a chance as the teams headed into overtime. The Alberta team thought they sealed the deal early, but the goal was called off due to an offside. The team put the puck in the net for the second time during overtime to claim the 2-1 win over the Terriers. Tuesday night's loss was Yorkton's first in the Western Canada Cup as the Terriers and Bandits sat tied for first in the standings. The Terriers ended their round-robin action, for their fourth game, yesterday as they took on the Surrey Eagles. Sitting with a tie for first, the Terriers have secured no lower than a spot in the third versus fourth playoff game With one game still remaining before press time, the Terriers still looked at a good chance of securing a place in the first versus second match up. Playoffs for the Western Canada Cup will start tomorrow with the winner of the first verses second game going straight to the RBC Cup. The loser of the game and the winner of the third versus fourth game will meet Sunday to determine the second team heading to the RBC Cup. This year's RBC Cup will be held in Summerside, PEI.
