The SJHL’s Yorkton Terriers claimed another big honour this season.
The team was named the Sask Sport Inc. May Athlete of the Month Award.
Last month, the Terriers picked up their second consecutive RBC Cup title over the Carlton Place Canadiens of Ottawa.
The SJHLers were down 3-1 with just minutes left on the clock, but came back with two goals within eight seconds of each other to tie the game 3-3.
It took triple overtime to decide the winner as the Terriers were crowned champions with a 4-3 victory.
This year’s RBC final game was reported to be the longest game ever played in the RBC Cup history.
The Terriers earned their team award for the month of May from their success at the RBC Cup, the Western Canada Cup and the overall 2013-14 SJHL season.
