Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Northland Ford helped to donate 130 toys to the Flin Flon Aboriginal Friendship Centre's Gift Program after hosting their first Teddy Bear Toss last weekend. At the Flon Bomber and Estevan Bruin game last Sunday, fans were asked to bring in teddy bears to toss on the ice after the Bombers scored their first goal. Northland was able to take home 130 toys for the program along with donating a box of food to the Lord Bounty's Food Bank. Allison Wilson, general manager at Northland Ford, said she was happy with the response. For the first year of the program, Wilson says there were more toys collected than expected. "I didn't think we would have as many as we did," she said. Northland Ford hopes to continue this program next year and increase the number of toys to be given to children who may not receive any other gifts at Christmas. "It feels great being able to give at Christmas when you know there are people in need," said Wilson. "It's especially nice to know that all of these gifts are being distributed into our community and some surrounding areas." Wilson says "it's very rewarding."
