The Uptown Curling Rink hosted another successful curling event on December 3-5. The event was the Target Zones for junior men and women. There were a total of 16 rinks which included six from Thompson, two from Gillam, four from The Pas and four from Flin Flon. The weekend was challenging for the first-time competitors, but they curled well and enjoyed themselves. The winners were the Courtney Reeves rink (top) from Gillam for the women and Kody Janzen rink (bottom) from the Burntwood club in Thompson for the men. The runners-up for the women was the Laura Buchanan foursome from Thompson. For the men, the runners-up was the Darcy Fuller rink from Thompson. All curlers provided great curling for the spectators. Thank you to the volunteers, umpires, parents and curlers, too. Participating from Flin Flon were Taylor Davis, Brennen Borschewski, Braden Kosar, Luke Rogers, Kevin Baschuk, Rylee McNeill, Shawn Wilkinson and Alessandro Strapazzon on the men's side. On the women's, Casandra Barron, Kyrra Kosar, Kendra Moberly, Amber Klause, Courtney Kendall, Katherine Lane, Samantha Breedon and Jenna Klause were the participants from Flin Flon.
