Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Flin Flon Creighton Slo Pitch League season came down to the wire over the weekend as SWAT took the Year End Tournament. The high-ranked team picked up a narrow 10-9 victory over Bandwagon in the eighth inning at Centoba. League games generally go seven innings, but this close match had spectators lining the fence and field to see who would take home the trophy. Batters rounded bases and made it home for the final game of the season as the fun tournament featured the majority of the teams in the league. Games got underway Friday and resumed Saturday morning. Poor visibility Ball players spent the majority of the games in the rain, barely able to see the infield. The sun found its way through the clouds on occasion as games continued all day Saturday and again on Sunday. The ball diamonds will be empty once again as the season came. Through plenty of rain and plenty of sunshine, the Flin Flon Creighton Slo Pitch League had another successful year. Changes are on the horizon for next year with details and questions to be answered at the annual general meeting in May.
