Frustration is growing in the Winnipeg Blue Bomber camp as the team has stumbled to a dismal 0-4 start to the season. Their 14-12 loss to the Edmonton Eskimos last Friday in Edmonton has caused some fans to question the abilities of quarterback Tee Martin who has not been effective at the pivot role. With the uncertainty of number one quarterback Kevin Glenn's ankle sprain, it appears that Martin will be back in the line-up Friday in Winnipeg as they host the Montreal Alouettes. In the game against the Eskimos, Martin completed just 11 of 29 passes for 138 yards. Both fans and sports commentators questioned why head coach Jim Daley did not replace Martin with rookie Russ Michna, since the Bomber quarterback was being so ineffective throughout the game. In his defense, Daley explained to the Winnipeg media that it takes a player a week of preparation to be ready to jump into the CFL action. Daley also said that Martin was making sufficient progress to continue being the main quarterback while the team waits for Glenn to heal. However, the coach's patience might come to an abrupt end if Montreal takes an early lead on Friday and Martin is unable to move the ball. It is not known whether or not Friday's game will be shown on local TV, or fall prey to the ridiculous black out rule. It just might make it on the tube, since TSN obviously thinks that we all live in Saskatchewan around here, blacking out last weekend's Roughrider game in Regina. We'll know Friday at game time.
