Students at Ruth Betts School have a lot of heart and they did their part to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation. On May 9, 38 kids raised $2,027 during the Jump Rope for Heart event. "I'm extremely proud," said Ruth Betts principal, John Belfry. The students practiced every Tuesday to do their best and got a good dose of exercise. The event lasted 45 minutes. Barb Corden, program coordinator for the North, for the Heart and Stroke Foundation said things went well during the event. "The students seemed to enjoy themselves. I was really pleased," Corden said. She was also happy with the money raised. "That's $2,000 more than what they had before," she said. The schools within the community rotate every year and next year it will be McIsaac School Ecole McIsaac.
