The Lions Spray Pool in Creighton is a place where children can cool off, but there are also tons of activities for everyone. Creighton recreation director Channa Senyk and her crew have been coming up with ideas for different activities over the weeks. "We do crafts on Wednesdays, assuming there is enough interest, and we just got a new golf bean bag game," she says. And she adds, "there is a new 24-foot parachute, which the girls working at the pool play games with the kids with." As far as crafts go, Senyk says there are a variety of different things to choose from. "We've done the beaded bracelets, and dinosaur bracelets, made out of Fruit-Loops, and you know we've done the sun visors, too," she says. Aside from the activities, Senyk says she was surprised to see just who was using the spray pool. "We're seeing a lot of babies," she says. "Parents are bringing their little ones out to cool down." "But overall, I think the attendance has just been great," she adds. "It seems to really pick up after lunch and then die down at supper time, but during the day, it's busy." And she adds, "most kids we see are five and younger."
