As always, the Lion's Spray Pool has been a popular place this summer. On average, up to 40 children have been soaking in the sun and even more water. Children have free reign to play underneath the 'mushroom' in the shallow end, or take a trip to the deep end. Even though there isn't much more than shin-deep water, it's perfect for those hot days when a cool-down is in order. The children don't seem to mind the shallow water, though it's not so shallow for many of the toddlers and babies who take their first steps in the water. The Spray Pool has been a popular place, when it isn't raining, for families to spend the afternoon. Aside from swimming, splashing and cooling down, children are also invited to participate in games and crafts. A parachute is on hand for the children to play with as well as the opportunity for a pick-up soccer game. The Town of Creighton's summer students set up crafts for the children to participate in as well as painting and sidewalk chalk. The Spray Pool opened at the end of June and will remain open, weather willing, until the end of August. It's been a summer full of hot, sunny days. But when the pool isn't cutting it, there is plenty of grass on which children and families can lay a towel and soak up some sunshine Ð with sun block, of course.
