With the Bombers' acquisition of four new players, I asked the panel if they get the sense of renewed optimism for the season. Has the recent success made fans forget about the horrible losing streak? Shaun Strom: These new additions are a welcome change to the previous players that we had. I was really impressed with their play, but the one person that stood out was Kyle Lundale. His speed and ability to pass and handle the puck were sublime in the Tuesday game against Nipawin. He is definitely going to bring a kick to the Bombers line-up (one that was desperately needed). Jordan Cherney, Nick Colliton and Dustyn Clegg are also a big help to the team, giving us that extra push. To back up my opinion about our goaltending, Nichol's shutout on Tuesday shows that we have nothing to worry about between the pipes. To win three games in a row after a long losing streak shows that we're making some progress. I gotta bring this back to Lundale though, having his strength and speed on the blueline is one of the greatest things to happen to the Bombers this season. I know that sounds like a stretch, but having solid defence is the key to a solid offence (sorry for the cheesy clich). Plain and simple, the Bombers were never out of the season, they just needed that little shove to get them back on track. Tanner Brough: I never got to see the game on Tuesday, but I heard a lot of good things about the Bombers. Lundale has four points in three games, and has a point-a-game average and just as many goals as Holinaty had points, that's a great addition. The two others, Colliton and Cherney, should add some much needed depth to a lineup looking to make a move in the standings. I said it before, this Bomber team has a lot of exciting players, and with the new changes I don't see any reason not to expect playoff hockey in the Whitney Forum again this spring. The North Battleford Stars were in town last weekend and it should be a great test for the new look Bombers against a team with a great record.11/27/2006
