Training camp is still months away for players of the Flin Flon Bombers, but for the rest of the organization, there is no off season. While the coach is busy recruiting players for the upcoming season, the marketing department is busy recruiting season ticket holders and corporate sponsors to support the team financially. The sponsorship drive for the Bombers kicked off on Monday this week, and as a way of giving back to sponsors that have supported the team year after year, the Flin Flon Bombers and The Reminder will be publishing photos of business owners making their donations during the duration of the sponsorship drive. "This is a community based team," said marketing director Tim Coutts. "Without the sponsors and fans, we wouldn't have a team. The Flin Flon Bombers are all about community." Ginnell, Bauman Watt was the first business to jump on board this year. "Ginnell, Bauman Watt feels it's very important to support the Flin Flon Junior Bombers," said Trevor Watt on behalf of the firm. "They are an important part of our community, and we encourage all of the business owners, as well as all Bomber fans to support them as much as possible. As you can tell by the NHL hockey playoffs, the Calgary Flames brought their community together, and that's what we would like to see happen here. We would like to get back to that Royal Bank Cup feeling that we had here in 2001." See 'First' P.# Con't from P.# As well as the sponsorship drive, the season ticket drive is also underway. "The June 14 deadline is only a few short weeks away," said Coutts. "It's coming up fast, and it is a crucial part of the team's operation. It gives us direction as to what will happen in the fall. Also on the go is the Bombers' annual boat draw, which will be made on the August long weekend. This is also the possibility of a Bomber golf tournament, tentatively scheduled for sometime in August as well.
