The Sparks (ages five and six) and Brownies (ages seven to nine) will be doing a number of things this year, which include selling cookies at Wal-Mart on November 30 and December 1. Cookies were sole door to door on Wednesday, October 10 as well. This year there are 15 Sparks and 20 Brownies, but we regret that we were unable to have a Guides group this year because there were no leaders available. Turnout at the enrollment night was amazing with many parents, siblings and grandparents coming to watch the girls and join them in building some tasty haunted mansions with Halloween candy. We will be holding an Olympics event for all the girls at the Elks halls on November 18, including opening and closing ceremonies, food from other countries and 10 exciting events. Leaders for Sparks are Loretta Makela, Kristina Lies and Sharron Grocholski. The leaders for Brownies are Jennifer Lahonen and Kristina Lies. The girls will also be singing at the Northern Lights Manor in December. Meetings are held Wednesdays for the Brownies from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., while the Sparks meet from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. For more information contact Kristina Lies at 687-5519.
