Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The annual Indoor Soccer Tournament was a great way to kick off the season. Held this past weekend in the Whitney Forum, teams were encouraged to have fun, play safe and play as a team. Geared at those born between 1997-2002, the annual spring tournament played host to eight mixed teams. Ped's Threads Panthers took first place over RK's Metal Crushers with a score of 2-1 in the 1997-99 age category. The Flin Flon Parks and Recreation team took a 4-2 win from the Rotary Wheelers, in the 2000-02 age group. Taking Bronze were the In Motion Movers, over the Kirkham Kickers 4-3, and the Whitford Pavers, over Dwayne's Glass Smashers 5-4. New this year, the Gold-medal-winning teams also had the chance to donate $50 to a charity of their choice as well as enjoy a pizza party in the lobby of the Whitney Forum.
