Eight teams competed in the 6th Annual Spring Indoor Soccer Kickoff Tournament this past weekend for the gold. And with two age categories, two teams walked away with gold, silver and bronze. The Whitney Forum hosted the event, which had games starting Thursday night and running until Sunday afternoon. Players born between 1994 and 1996 made up the teams of Lion Crashers, KirkhamÕs Kickers, Whitford Pavers and Canadian Tire Kickers. The four teams played in a round robin fashion before the Canadian Tire Kickers took on the Lions Crashers for the Bronze. The Kickers came out on top 5-0. The Gold and Silver game saw the Whitford Pavers taking on KirkhamÕs Kickers, leaving the Pavers with the Gold. And players born between 1997-1999 made up the teams of PedÕs Panthers, RKÕs Metal Crushers, Co-op Difference and DwayneÕs Glass Smashers. The final for the older age group had the Glass Smashers up against RKÕs, giving them the Bronze with a 6-1 victory. Team Co-op took on the PedÕs Panthers for the Gold and walked away with a 4-1 win over the maroon team.
