The 2003 soccer season saw over 500 players enjoy this fast growing sport. Through the efforts of many volunteers, the players had a great season. The Soccer Club was busy fundraising and planning for new fields, building a storage and toilet facility at Phantom Lake field, and scheduling games around the weather. The 2003 season was the first year of starting to train young players to become referees. The concept proved to be successful and will be continued in the future. The Annual General Meeting was held in September with election of officers. The position of president was not filled, and at this time the Phantom Lake Soccer Club is looking for a person to fill the position. To hold the position of president it is not necessary to be familiar with soccer, but have good organizational and communication skills. The president is responsible to call and oversee meetings, delegate jobs to coordinators, support members of the executive and coordinators, and professionally represent the soccer club. The position of president is a maximum term of two years. Persons interested in this position are asked to contact Theresa Kosar (687-5687) or John Moore (362-2243). For the 2004 soccer season to be successful, it is necessary for someone to step forward and fill this position. The Phantom Lake Soccer Club had many parents and players help make the past soccer season enjoyable and successful. It is always recognized that a successful soccer season is the result of help from many volunteers.
