Snow Lake Recreation Director Stephanie Foy submitted her resignation to the Town of Snow Lake on September 30, 2004. They accepted it with regret at their October 5 regular meeting. Foy has been the community's Rec. Director for the past four years and in an opinion shared by many of the town's 1,300 residents, she was particularly adept at that job. During her tenure with the town, Foy was responsible for the development and implementation of a number of recreation programs and is credited with working to secure a multitude of grants for the town and many of the groups within it. Just recently she helped the town and others acquire monies for a wheelchair ramp and drainage repairs, a lighting retrofit, a skateboard park, and equipment for a community weight and fitness room. Foy is married and has three children. She, husband Neil and their boys will be leaving the community shortly to take up residence in Southern Manitoba. Ms. Foy will then begin employment as the Recreation Coordinator for the Rural Municipalities of West St. Paul and St. Andrews. During their Tuesday regular meeting, the Town Council instructed the Assistant Administrator to place an ad in the community's weekly newspaper advertising the vacant position. Foy's last day of work will be Wednesday, October 20.
