Smith rink takes bonspiel

Barry Smith’s rink took top spot at this year’s Mechanical and Construction Recreation Club Annual Curling Bonspiel. The four-rink bonspiel was held at the Uptown Curling Rink on Jan. 10 as Smith took the A side championship over John Vielgut.

The four-rink bonspiel was held at the Uptown Curling Rink on Jan. 10 as Smith took the A side championship over John Vielgut.

Smith’s rink, made up of himself as skip, Wayne Reynolds as third, Justin Burwash as second, and Norm LeClerc as lead, took on Vielgut, third Bill Williamson, second Glen Muench and lead Andy Sawko.

The B side finals saw Tony Flynn’s rink, made up of himself as skip, third Drew Moore, second Mike Williams and lead Ken Oliynyk, defeat Hugh Quinn’s rink.

Quinn, as skip, was joined by third Tom Kozar, second Cam Seckinger and lead Rick Jackson for the one-day bonspiel.
