A bit of damp weather couldn't slow down the fun last weekend during the season's first slo-pitch tournament. Five local teams were registered for the tournament: DiHards, Retros, Swat Team, Piranhas and With Themselves. When the dust (and some mud) cleared by Sunday afternoon, Swat Team grabbed first place overall for the weekend, with second spot going to With Themselves and third to Retros. "We braved the storms and had lots of fun," reported Laurel Walker, the secretary-treasurer for the Flin Flon Creighton So-Pitch League. Laurel also mentioned that the league's next tournament will be in July, with teams from The Pas expected to join in the fun. The games are played at Centoba Park and there's lots of entertaining action whenever slo-pitch teams get together for some fun competition.
