Submitted Article In spite of light rain and a slightly soggy trail, 33 skiers of all ages showed up for the 37th annual Centaloppet this past Sunday, March 18. This year, the event was run on a new 3.4 -kilometre course which started and finished at the Ski Club Chalet. Event founder Ivor Hedman was on hand to present the Centaloppet Cup to this year's winner, Heather Jacobson. Runners up were Nathan Whitbread and Larry Fancy. The Cup goes to the skier with the best corrected time _ based on a formula which adjusts for age and gender. Fastest skier over the course was Senior Man Brett Unrau with a time of 11 minutes and 35 seconds. Fastest Senior Woman was Brett's wife Ruth with a time of 21:37. Fastest Junior Man and Woman (age 15-19) were Nick Martin (12:22) and Marthe-Lize Helberg (36:48). Fastest Boys and Girls (14 and under) were Nick Novosel (13:13) and Tara Whitbread (28:08). All had a great time, and look forward to doing it again next year.
