Winter has arrived! And who could be happier than the members of the Flin Flon Ski Club?
An early start to winter means plenty of opportunity for skiing and enjoying the fresh, white snow.
To help kick off their season, the club will be hosting their annual open house this Sunday.
The afternoon will feature information on upcoming programs such as the well known, and loved, competitive ski club as well as the newer programs like Mom & Tots.
The club will open the doors to the chalet on Sunday for registrations as well as a fun afternoon.
Both returning members and those either new to the community or new to the sport are encouraged to attend.
Like years past, new ski gear will be available for purchase through Fresh Air Experience.
Offering 28 kilometres
The Flin Flon Ski Club continues to offer 28 kilometres of groomed trails – including 2.2 kilometres illuminated along the Valley Loop.
The trails see numerous skiers throughout the season – some of whom are competing for their best time and others who are learning the basics of moving on skies.
Regardless of their experience, the club’s Dave Price says he hopes to see everyone at the open house on Sunday.
Upcoming dates
Sunday marks this year’s open house and a kick off to another busy season at the Flin Flon Ski Club.
The club will again be hosting the Sask Cup Provincial races in February. In years past, skiers from all across Saskatchewan have competed in the two-day event, giving the local trails and athletes a run for their money.
On the fun side of the coin, the club will be hosting the 40th annual Centaloppet on March 8.
This four-decade tradition is fun for the whole family – of all ages and experience levels – to compete for the coveted Centaloppet Cup.
There’s a strategic equation that proves anyone can win the sought-after Cup. Will it be you?
