The Flin Flon Skating Club held its bi-annual spring carnival over the past weekend. Forty-six skaters performed in "Kaleidoscope". The younger skaters entertained the crowd with their charming and cute performances in the Crystal Droplets, Daydreamers and Galaxy. The older skaters enticed the audience with their solos and performances in the La Bamba, Reflections and Hot Stars. All of the skaters worked hard over the past few weeks to present the community with a performance that they could enjoy and remember in the years to come. Many of the audience commented that one of the most touching performances came from the mystery skaters. The mystery skaters turned out to be some of the mothers (who were former skaters of the Flin Flon Skating Club) and their children (who are now a part of the Flin Flon Skating Club). By the conclusion of the mother and daughter performance, many tears were observed in the eyes of the audience. At the end of Sunday's performance a bouquet was presented to the coach, Carla Wabick. It was noted that the club was so thankful to have such a dedicated, committed and knowledgeable coach as Carla instructing the skaters. The theme of "Kaleidoscope" was chosen to represent the dynamic and ever changing, colourful world that we are all a part of. Every different shape and colour makes the world a more unique and beautiful place to live in. The club also sold tickets on a 53" Panasonic TV and on a very well stocked loonie parade during both performances. The Flin Flon Skating Club has had another successful year and is drawing to a close at the end of next week. Their annual meeting will be held in April (tentative date is not set at present). If anyone is interested in adding his or her input on the running of the club, please feel free to come out to the annual meeting.
