Nearly 50 skaters from Flin Flon, Thompson, and The Pas participated in the Skate Canada Manitoba Norman Region Competition & Funskate held Friday to Sunday January 26-28, 2018 at the Whitney Forum.
While officials from Winnipeg faced travel delays due to weather, local coaches took on the role of judging the competetion on the morning of Jan. 27. Skaters from all levels participated from Stage 1 CanSkate to Star 10 STARSkate.
The weekend kicked off with a banquet, which saw Norman Region director Betty Anne Wilkinson present the Norman Region awards. These awards are nominated by local clubs and decided upon by an independent committee. Flin Flon athletes and coaches Sara Burbidge, Alexandra Dallas and Victoria Pedwell received awards.
