The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce Battlefords North Star forward Brett Jullion as the Midwest Sportswear Ltd. Player of the Week for the period ending February 13th. The 20-year-old Jullion scored four goals and five assists in four games played last week. Jullion scored once and set up another in a 5-2 loss to the Nipawin Hawks on Tuesday. He picked up a goal and two helpers on Friday in an overtime decision over Flin Flon. Jullion assisted on one of his team's two goals one night later in a loss to the Bombers.ÊHe finished the week with two goals and one assist in a 4-2 win over Nipawin on Sunday. For the season, Jullion has managed to reach the point per game plateau thanks to his performance in the last seven days.ÊHe has scored 22 goals and 31 assists in 53 games. The 5'9" 170 lbs native of Edam is in his final season in the SJHL. Jullion edged Battlefords teammate Michael George (also nine points in four games) for the award. Also considered were Yorkton's Chris Korchinski and Barry Sparvier as well as Nipawin's Mike Bulawka and Josh Belair. Defenseman of the Week: Patrick Carriere, Nipawin Hawks The SJHL Defenseman of the Week is 20-year-old Patrick Carriere of the Nipawin Hawks. The St. Malo, Manitoba native led all SJHL blueliners with five assists in four games played over the last seven days. The Hawks went 3-and-1 in those four games played. This season, Carriere is forcing NCAA schools to look at him closely for a possible career in the American college ranks next Fall. He has been an excellent leader as team captain and is also his team's leader in scoring amongst defensemen with six goals and 20assists in 47 games. Other players worth mentioning this week include Battlefords' Derek Keller (five points in four games) as well as Weyburn's Matt Wheeler, Yorkton's Josh Garbutt, and Estevan's Chris Stubel. Goaltender of the Week:ÊKevin Dziaduck, Yorkton Terriers The SJHL Goaltender of the Week is 20-year-old Kevin Dziaduck of the Yorkton Terriers. It's the first weekly nod for the Terrier netminder this season, but he's rounding into form just at the right time for the Terriers, who have high playoff hopes. Dziaduck went 3-and-1 with a 1.23-GAA and .957-SPCT in four appearances last week. The only loss was a 2-1 overtime defeat in Notre Dame. He backstopped the Terriers to wins over the Hounds and two against Melville.ÊHe collected his third shutout of the season, which puts him in a tie with Nathan Fischl of Humboldt and Jamie Langen of Melville. For the season, Dziaduck is now 20-10-and-2 with a 2.51-GAA and .912-SPCT. Other candidates for last week's top goaltender were Notre Dame's Andrew Goulet, and Alex Gagnon from La Ronge.
