The Estevan Bruins won three times in three games during the week ending December 12, extended their winning streak to eight games and opened a seven-point advantage in the Sherwood Conference in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Estevan has a 22-7-5 record. The Notre Dame Hounds are second in the conference, at 19-10-4. The Yorkton Terriers are 16-7-3 and have one overtime loss, for 36 points in 27 games. The defending champion Kindersley Klippers continue to lead the ITECH Conference and are second overall. Kindersley is 21-11-2 and has one overtime loss, for 45 points in 35 games. Veteran goalie Juliano Pagliero made 31 stops December 8 in Estevan's 4-1 win over Notre Dame on home ice. Derek Wilhelm had one goal and one assist in one minute and 16 seconds in the third period December 11 in Estevan's 3-2 win over the Humboldt Broncos on home ice. Keith Hamilton had two goals and one assist December 12 in Estevan's 4-3 win over the Weyburn Red Wings in Weyburn. Lance Herauf scored three times December 8 in Yorkton's 4-2 win over the Nipawin Hawks before 1,018 fans in Yorkton. Todd Rusnak had two goals December 10 in Yorkton's 5-2 win over Notre Dame on Notre Dame's home ice in Wilcox. See 'MacDonald' P.# Con't from P.# Veterans Troy Schwab and Josh Zimmer had one goal and two assists each December 10 in Kindersley's 7-5 win over the Flin Flon Bombers before 1,228 fans in Flin Flon. Brodie Zuk had one goal and one assist as Kindersley scored four times in the final seven minutes and 37 seconds December 11 in a 4-2 win before 1,214 fans in Flin Flon. Schwab, 20, remains the league-leading scorer. He has a league-leading 38 assists and 53 points in 31 games. Dustin MacDonald of the Battlefords North Stars continues to lead league goalies. MacDonald, 19, has a 1.85 goals against average and .932 saves percentage in 906 minutes. Also, five players each from Yorkton, Kindersley, the La Ronge Ice Wolves and Nipawin will play in the annual league all-star game, December 19 in North Battleford. Four players each from Notre Dame and the Melville Millionaires join the Yorkton contingent on the Sherwood Conference roster. Two players each from Humboldt and the Weyburn Red Wings round out the lineup. Two players each from Battlefords and the Melfort Mustangs are on the ITECH roster with the players from Kindersley, La Ronge and Nipawin. One player from Flin Flon completes the list. All-star changes The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced a few changes to the Itech and Sherwood Conference All-Star/Prospects teams. In the Sherwood Conference, Estevan forward Pat McGillicky is injured and unable to participate. Therefore, teammate Cameron Jarvis will be his substitute. For the Itech Conference, defenseman Jared Mohr will play for Battlefords' teammate Derek Keller. Keller is going to St. Lawrence on a fly-down for a potential scholarship. Therefore, Battlefords' blueliner Adam Vetter will replace Keller in the Prospects Game. Battlefords' forward Jared Keller has also been added to the Itech Conference Prospects team.
